University Presbyterian Church in Rochester Hills is hosting the second annual PetPalooza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

This family-friendly event is designed to bring together pet lovers and their pets for fun, pet-themed activities. Admission is free but donations will be accepted to benefit Michigan Animal Rescue League in Pontiac.

“PetPalooza is a great way for our church to offer the community a fun outdoor event during this time of a pandemic. It also helps to raise funds for MARL, an organization that rescues animals and works to place them in forever homes,” said Robin Danek, marketing coordinator for the event.

There will be a number of activities including a pet look-alike contest, a photo station, blessing of the pets, a dog agility course, best trick contest, music by the Drop-In Bluegrass Band, food by the Batter Up! Waffle Truck and more. Free goodie bags will be handed out to the first 25 pets, compliments of Premier Pet Supply of Rochester Hills.

The event is outside, and participants are encouraged to bring a chair to relax, social-distance style, with other pet lovers. Masks are required (for humans) when not seated.

University Presbyterian Church is located at 1385 S. Adams Road, Rochester Hills across from Oakland University. Learn more about this event at universitypres.org/uncategorized/petpalooza-2020.
